Professor Layton and the Curious Village

I want to play this game! After my recent purchases I believe I will wait for a sale, or even Christmas, but I'll definitely pick it up at some stage. I hear the puzzles are excellent, and I love a puzzle!

Looks brilliant! Other than for the Wii, where I don't have much choice, I'm usually a point and click adventure-only purist, suspiciously scanning boxes to see if they mention the dreaded word "action". This one looks fantastic. Must...not...buy...DS.... I don't use my Wii enough as it is, and I have a massive pile of PC adventure games I haven't had time to play yet either. Do report on what you think when you eventually get it, though.

Oooh, are there any Wii games you could recommend? We bought one last weekend, but don't have much to play on it yet.

I'm behind on my Wii game purchases. If you're interested I can get a list of recommendations from a colleague.

You should check out Mario Kart for Wii. Everyone I know finds it silly good fun.

Smooth Moves is lots of fun, really unusual and a brilliant use of the Wii controller. Super Mario Galaxy is great too. That's about as far as I've got - I bought Princess Zelda but it's gathering dust at the moment.

I just remembered I forgot to mention Eledees! It's an unusual game and another great use of the Wii controller - you get to rip rooms apart, throwing furniure here and there, dragging boxes out of cupboards and that kind of stuff, looking for Eledees which you capture. It's great. I really hated Wii Boogie though - not at all like Singstar. The music is awful fake bad bad covers.

WANT!
I've been looking for this everywhere, it's a nasty one to track down. I think I'll be ordering it in.

Shouty Shop delivers again!

I always feel so dirty going in there, but their low low prices keep me coming back for more.

It makes me feel like I'm in some kind of English rave movie's 4am drug sequence... cacophonic noise, insane signs, bright fluorescence, four times bigger on the inside than it looks from the door...

I don't think I've ever bought anything there, in fact I've only been in a few times - but we were looking for a Wii last weekend, which they could not provide, though EB a few doors down had plenty.

I only go in if I'm after something specific, browsing in there grinds me down and I end up buying things I don't need :/

My usual strategy is to decide what I want before I go in, turn up the iPod so I can't hear the other noises, check for what I need and then purchase/leave before I start looking at other things.

Wii is great, my Mum has one now - they play it instead of watching Coronation Street.

I have Professor Layton and the Curious Village, but haven't started it yet. I've been playing the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney series of cartridges (recommend).

Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton, and Jake Hunter were recommended to me all in the same vein.
